Network WALKMAN E005S/005/003/002 Price Reduction
Sony Japan announced last week of a price reduction to its flash based Network Walkman E005/E003/E002 series. The new revised retail price will be as follows:
* WALKMAN E005 Series
NW-E005/S [SonyStyle Japan Limited Edition] (2GB) – 15,000 yen or approx. USD$126 (1,800 yen price reduction)
NW-E005  (2GB) – 15,800 yen or approx. USD$133 (2,000 yen price reduction)
* WALKMAN E003 Series
NW-E003  (1GB) – 11,800 yen or approx. USD$99 (1,000 yen price reduction)
* WALKMAN E002 Series
NW-E002  (512MB) – 8,980 yen or approx. USD$76 (1,000 yen price reduction)
good to hear a price reduction is coming, hopefully this will also occur in canada. As well I believe sony should have started shipping these new units with in ear canal headphones as well to have a 1 up on the other companies out there. possibly colour coded as well. I am waiting for the 700 series so the price reduction won’t temp me much.
Pretty sure the price reduction already happened in Canada - $126US is quite close to the $149 the 2gb model goes for now. And the 1gb is only $110, which isn’t bad for a device that has decent sound quality.

The E005 can be had at retail for $119 in the US with various sales and what not. By the end of the year, this model could probably be had for $99 or less…
