Firmware 2.80 includes the following changes:

★ You can now register devices via a wireless LAN access point under [LocationFree™ Player]

MUSIC

Hi,
I’ve just upgraded, but am still at work, where I don’t have any video or music to download to my PSP. What does it means by we can now play contents in the above mentioned folders? Is it referring to the ability to not have to name our video files in goofy ways or just doesn’t need to be in those “100AV….” folders now?
Also, I’m assuming any video we can stream to the PSP has to be MP4, right? I’m interested in trying it out.

According to Sony, the new firmware has simplified the file structure of the PSP in relative to how user save contents. User can now save contents according to its respective folder (in the root directory): [MUSIC], [PICTURE] and [VIDEO]. So, videos should go into [VIDEO]. However, I\’ve discovered that the PSP does not recognize AVC videos within the new [VIDEO] folder; regular SP MPEG-4 works fine though.
The file extension must be either .MP4 or .M4V.
could you send me version 2.81 please

Hey i upgraded my psp to version 2.80 and i downloaded some music to my psp. The music is under the music file on my psp but the psp says WMA playback not enabled. But to enable the WMA playback you have to connect to the internet on your psp, but i can’t get on the internet with my psp. So is there a way that i could play music without enabling the WMA playback. Or do i have to downgrade back to version 2.71. If i do have to downgrade to version 2.71 how do I downgrade back to version 2.71. Please email me back at christopher12@comcast.net because i am getting very frustrated that i can’t listen to music now
I was also wondering if you could send me some videos music pictures anything. Give me all the good advice you have about the PSP. I would really appreciate it
Could you tell me exactly what the RSS channel does
Pleasssssssssssssssee tell me i can listen to music without having to connect to the internet on my psp. If i do have to connect to the internet than in wondered why i downloaded ver. 2.80 because i love to listen to music and i could listen to music on ver. 2.71
IF I GOT A NEW MEMORY CARD FOR MY PSP WOULD I STILL HAVE TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET TO ENABLE THE WMA PLAYBACK TO LISTEN TO MUSIC

Unfortunately, you must activate the [Enable WMA Playback] setting to play music data in WMA format.

About RSS technology
RSS is a text format used in information fields such as headlines and summary paragraphs on Web sites to facilitate distribution of updated content. When new content in RSS format is added to a Web site, you can use software to automatically check for and then browse the updated content without visiting the Web site.
For example, if you add a Web site that contains RSS-distributed news to RSS-compatible software, when a new article is posted to the site, the headline for that news article will appear on your PC or other device.
PSP\’s RSS Channel
Using the PSP(TM) system\\\’s RSS Channel feature, you can add link information to your channel list that will enable your system to link to RSS-distributed content available on Web pages.
When connected to the Internet, the system will automatically update the list of content that has been added to these pages, and you can then play the new content on your system.
