d/a converter on usual cd reads data on 1650 kbps speed, standard bluetooth cant do it at that speed so data must be compressed and music quality decreased......thats why i doubt it would play back music the same quality as it comes from PC stereo......I think bt transmitter in this product is standardized to be able to transmit data at 750 kbps (Bt 1.1 standard), which is poor I think. Never the less I will try it at Sony center

This product is on the shelf in various Sony Style Stores in Canada and also can be ordered online (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=1003249&navigationPath=n33000n32100n100125) although it is unfortunately out of stock right now. I've seen it in the stores and it is sweet. The remote does not have a mute button though (major drawback when the telephone rings!)

[...] We initally reported on the discovery of this beautiful bluetooth bookshelf (see if you can say that three times fast) through some FCC filings back in mid-July. It appears Sony has lifted the veil and is ready to start talking details. There is no word on North American availability, but it is likely that this will be available in the usual retail channels before Christmas. We are very pleased to see Sony aggressively move forward towards bluetooth compatibility between seemingly all audio devices that they offer. Sony has announced the launch of the industry’s first micro system which offers high quality sound and instant playback taken directly from your portable audio player, mobile phone or personal computer at a click of a button. As the first micro system to feature Bluetooth technology, the Sony CMT-U1BT wirelessly receives music from the other Bluetooth-enabled devices in your home to offer no-fuss access to your catalogue of favourite artists and music. Up until now, music lovers wishing to share tracks from an MP3 player, mobile phone or personal computer had to trouble themselves sharing headphones, compromise sound quality with small speakers or use a messy cable to link with a stereo system. The inclusion of wireless connectivity is thanks to the latest version of Bluetooth known as “A2DP” (Which stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Put simply, it allows Bluetooth to wirelessly stream music in high quality stereo rather than just transmitting hands free voice or data files. It means that music from your other devices can be played on the HiFi seamlessly on demand whenever and you are at home. [...]

Hello!

Does anyone know if this device reads out the files via USB from my HD5?

And therefor it has a second DA converter etc?

Is there a display and a remote to navigate in the content on my HD5?

This would be nearly perfect if it works like this!!!!

Please Sony:

Now add all this in one housing to a Boombox as good as the Apple iPod Hifi and i will buy it for sure!!!

This is Dream for all the Sony NW Player owners.
Like me with a HD5 never could believe that such a device would work still with the HD5!!!
Maybe with a new A Series....but HD5?

Perfect Sony!!!!

Go ON!!!!
