cNet Reviews NW-A1200

As the NW-A1200 is now available in the USA, cNet has taken the time to review it accordingly and gives it a rating of 7.3 out of 10.
The good: The Sony NW-A1200 has a stylish and futuristic design; excellent sound quality; is compatible with MP3, unprotected AAC, unprotected WMA, and ATRAC3; includes useful, intelligent playlist and artist link features; replaceable battery; decent value.
The bad: The Sony NW-A1200 uses a hard drive that’s not as durable as flash; has no extra features such as FM, recording, and photo viewing; its monochrome screen is impossible to see in daylight and is easy to scratch; must use the imperfect SonicStage management software.
The bottom line: It has finally arrived in the States. The NW-A1200 is a one-dimensional player with subpar software integration, but the device looks good, sounds great, and includes innovative music search and playlist features.

Scratch easy? nope, unlike the Ipod the A series is quite durable and resistant to scratches.
well like many posts I left at Cnet.com, I told them to shut down the stupid site, unless they have someone who really know what they are talking about!!!!!! those SLOW people there really piss me off, they never get it right about SONY, I dont know about other products since I am not intreseted, but from what I seen so far their reviews about SONY products, their level is only a bit higher than most of those don’t knowo anything customers who shop at BestBuy!!! No more need to be said.
oh actually one more point, the only reason why this stupid site is still there cuz there are just too many people don’t know ANYTHING about ANYTHING, and they often think Cnet gives them the best reviews or ideas. So I would say we should suggest them to close the site, or get people who is well trained; or suggest customers to really learn from other sources!!!
I don’t understand why photo viewing and FM are factors that have to be taken into conbsideration when writing a review on a portable music device. It’s amazing how these reviewers can get so sidetracked. And isn’t a a given already that hard-drives aren’t as durable as flash?
[...] “CNET review: Sony NW-A1200”: gets a 7.3/10. Stylish design, smart features when it comes to browsing/finding your music, excellent sound quality, wide format support (MP3/AAC/WMA/ATRAC3)—these are the good things. Unfortunately, the scratch-prone monochrome screen and the lack of extra features such as FM and recording, plus the ever-dreadful SonicStage kinda break things. [via”] [...]
They talk as if Sony’s are the only company using hard-drive. Plus these hard drives are made by Toshiba right? I wonder why gigabeat and apple don’t get this sort of criticism on usage of hard drive.
